One of the biggest sagas of the summer is reportedly nearing its end, with Brazilian superstar Neymar edging closer to a comeback to his former team Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain, reports say. Neymar has been linked to a move back to Barcelona following an overwhelming season in the French capital and that could be a reality in the next days.

The Blaugrana have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the forward over his return to the club from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, just two years after the Brazilian left Spain, becoming the most expensive football transfer in history. There have been several rumors over Neymar’s desire to leave France, and it looks like his wish has been granted after agreeing on a five-year deal with the La Liga champions.

However, according to Sport, the club has made a series of conditions for the Brazilian player before making the offer. He will have to take a pay cut of almost 50% of his salary, and the reports stated he is fine with it, still being the second best-paid footballer in the world behind Lionel Messi.

Mundo Deportivo also adds that Neymar must withdraw his legal complaint against the Catalans and finally, he will have to personally apologize to the Barca faithful over how he managed his exit in the summer of 2017. Considering his willingness to drop his wage the way he’s done it, it won’t be too much of a problem for Neymar to apologize to the Spaniards.

Ney still has three years remaining in his current contract with Les Parisiens, who will try to recover at least €200 million in order to part with the forward, and that would be the biggest issue at the time of completing the deal. Nevertheless, recent reports indicated that Barcelona were willing to offer several players trying to lower Neymar’s transfer fee.

This certainly will be a hard task given that relationships between the two sides have been almost non-existent since 2017 when the French put their hands on Neymar. Ever since that, any work involving these two has been done by intermediaries.
