After the acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins, some were calling for the league to take action. How could the NBA allow for a team to get as stacked as the Warriors are?
With Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins, the Dubs have, arguably, the best starting 5 in the NBA. Thompson himself even said the Warriors’ starting 5 could be the opening lineup for the USA team.
“I think our starting five could be a Team USA starting five,” Thompson said, via Nick Friedell of ESPN. “That’s how good it is. I’m very grateful to be in this position, not a lot of players ever experience something like this in any sport.”
“The Warriors’ starting five of Curry, Thompson, Durant, Green, and Cousins has combined for 19 All-NBA selections, 28 All-Star Game appearances, five scoring titles, five Olympic gold medals, three MVP awards and a Defensive Player of the Year trophy.”
What the Dubs have built is truly revolutionary. They’ve surrounded their winning culture with a slew of talented players. They have nearly unbeatable.
We will see how long that stays, especially with three players of their core up for free-agency this summer.
